Walter Raleigh and Queen Elizabeth I and takes placemoments before Sir
Walter Raleigh’s execution. He has been sentenced to bebeheaded by King
James I of Englandon a charge of treason. King James I succeeded Queen
Elizabeth to the Englishthrone. At the time of his death, Sir Walter Raleigh
was in his 60’s and QueenElizabeth had been dead for 15 years. The show is

Piper with theTarradiddle Players 10:30 a.m. Film Theatre at
Roanoke IslandFestivalPark. In 1842, Robert Browning wrote abeautiful poem
about the legend of a mysterious piper who used his mesmerizingmusic to rid
a town of rats. But when the greedy town leaders refused to paythe piper for
his services, he used the same skill to lure away all the town’schildren.
This is not that story. Well, not exactly that story. Told in thezany
slapstick style of Commedia dell’arte, this is the Pied Piper of Hamelinlike
